Saints hold private workout with Kansas QB Jalon Daniels

The New Orleans Saints are evaluating talent across numerous positions, including quarterback—a somewhat unexpected focus area.

Per NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, the Saints held a private workout with Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels earlier this year.

Daniels, 6-foot-1 and 219 pounds, is a sixth-year senior graduate heading into the NFL Draft after operating the Kansas Jayhawks RPO-heavy offense. He represents an athletic, dual-threat passer with strong collegiate statistics.

While the Saints are not seeking a starting quarterback, Daniels could become an undrafted free agent prospect. New Orleans needs passers for rookie minicamps, where their existing quarterback roster cannot participate.

Daniels became the second player in Jayhawks history to exceed 10,000 total yards. Last season, he completed 62.1% of passes for 2,531 yards and 22 touchdowns, adding 117 rushes for 404 yards and four rushing scores. His 19 interceptions over two seasons limit his long-term appeal to the organization.
