Some of the momentum around Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is being written off as a late draft rise. However, for many, the momentum has been rising for some time. The biggest question marks the Sun Devils wideout carried into the offseason appear to have been answered beginning with medical checks at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The latest ascension for the possible New Orleans Saints’ draft target came with his Friday private workout.
Much of the feedback from the session, for which the Saints were present, came back positive. Tyson has now begun sharing video from the workout, putting on display his movement ability, twitchy route running and explosiveness.
Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson posted on IG this catch he made during his personal workout Friday in front of NFL teams:

In the videos, Tyson can be seen running routes, making cuts, changing direction and leaping, all with a sense of ease and comfort. He’s been held out of most of the NFL Draft workout cycle as he recovered from an October hamstring injury. This workout may have cleared some of the doubts or lingering questions about his recovery process.

The wideout’s signature explosiveness is on full display in the videos he shared. That’s promising news for New Orleans, which has kept tabs on the receiver for some time. The Saints hosted Tyson for a top-30 pre-draft visit, which would have given their medical staff a chance to get a look at the receiver as well.
Some have already begun frame-by-frame analysis of the videos and subsequently lodged concerns around their evaluations. But those concerns have been met with questions from former NFL wideouts. Wide receiver coaches have shared their promising impressions as well.
There’s going to be teams that overthink him, & they will regret it. His body control, spatial awareness are something that will transition greatly to the NFL game. He is a guy who will fit into NFL route concepts in skilled way. The skill he has can’t be measured in pre draft bs https://t.co/xVmAmBwwCE

The Saints are expected to be one of the teams to have a shot at drafting Tyson. Ultimately, the decision will come down to what additional talent is available, as the draft debate of defense versus offense continues. But if the Saints want to invest their top selection in the best chance to build around quarterback Tyler Shough, the Arizona State wideout may be the selection to strongly consider.
