NEW ORLEANS, La. — Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson has dominated the NFL Draft news cycle of late. After not being able to participate in most of the pre-draft process due to a lingering October hamstring injury, the wideout held a private workout for NFL teams in Arizona on Friday.
Louisianasports.Net has learned that the New Orleans Saints were one of the 18 teams reportedly present for the highly anticipated session.
Tyson did not run timed workouts such as a 40-yard dash or short shuttle, nor did he participate in vertical or broad jump exercises. However, he did run receiver drills, giving teams a chance to see him in on-field action for the first time since his injury.
For the Saints, who have collected a lot of data on the Sun Devils pass-catcher, this was valuable information. The team hosted Tyson for a pre-draft visit, allowing them a chance to meet with him, tour him around the facility and conduct medical checks. However, clubs are not permitted to conduct on-field work during those visits.
Many of the reports coming out of the workout are bursting with positivity.
Per a source at Jordan Tyson’s workout: “He showed the twitch, explosiveness and leaping ability we all saw in the fall. He showed he’s healthy and still explosive, which is all he needed to do.” The contingents from Miami and NY Giants included the GMs. Giants pick at 5 and… https://t.co/D0WzubhU5R

Several sources with knowledge of his progress have confirmed that Tyson’s medicals have not been seen as prohibitive to teams looking to invest in a wide receiver early in this year’s draft.
The Saints are in need of help at the position with two established starters on the roster and a slew of promising potential behind that coming back from injuries or with a chance to propel from role players to contributors. Continuing to pursue proven talent in the room appears likely, especially considering the amount of wideouts New Orleans has spent time with this offseason.
Tyson could be an option for New Orleans at No. 8 overall in this year’s draft. Though, it seems likely that they could be tempted by available edge rusher and cornerback talent as well.
The 21-year old wideout caught 61 passes last year for 711 receiving yards and eight touchdown receptions.
