QB Emile Picarella leaves LSU program


LSU quarterback Emile Picarella is leaving the program after one season, creating another opening in the Tigers’ reshaped QB room under Lane Kiffin.

LSU redshirt freshman quarterback Emile Picarella has left the program, he confirmed to LouisianaSports.net.

“I’ve decided to move on from LSU. I’ll always appreciate my teammates, the old and new staff, and the opportunity I had there. I wish the program nothing but success.”

QB Emile Picarella has left the LSU football team, he confirms to me.

Picarella informed the LSU staff of his intention to transfer after spring practice concluded. He plans to continue his college career but says he is still weighing his options.

The 6-foot-2, 218 pounder for University Lab redshirted with the Tigers in 2025. He went through spring practice under Lane Kiffin, backing up the three transfers the new staff added.

LSU added Sam Leavitt, Husan Longstreet and Landen Clark via the portal in this cycle. Middle Tennessee transfer Kaden Martin committed to the Tigers Friday. Martin is the son of LSU assistant Tee Martin.
