Will Wade hasn’t wasted any time adding headliners to the non-conference schedule.
Two weeks after an agreement to play Houston in the Toyota Center was announced, a report surfaced that the Tigers will head to Spokane on November 14 to take on Gonzaga.

Kelvin Sampson’s Cougars and Mark Few’s Bulldogs are among the nation’s most consistent elite programs. LSU will travel into both backyards to tangle. Gonzaga plays its home games at the McCarthy Center, affectionally referred to as “The Kennel”, which seats 6,000 fans. This matchup will be at Spokane Arena which seats over 10,000
Wade has always prioritized scheduling. He targets teams that win plenty of games to boost LSU’s metrics come March. Gonzaga is perhaps the surest bet in basketball. Few’s club has won 30 games in nine of the last 14 years and has not won fewer than 25 since 2007. A season ago, Gonzaga went 31-4 and lost in the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament to Texas.
CBS’s Jon Rothstein also reported on Wednesday that LSU will participate in the Acrisure Series in Palm Springs. That event includes 28 teams, but we know that LSU will be grouped with Southern Cal, South Carolina, Arizona State, Utah State, Grand Canyon, St. Louis, Stanford and Colorado.

Wade still has some roster composition work to iron out, but the schedule is coming together to create some real excitement on the hardwood.
