LSU is looking for infield pieces.
Dawson Park from Texas State becomes the first. Park, started 93 games over two seasons at Texas State. As a sophomore in 2026, he hit .301 with 13 home runs and 52 runs driven in. He also stole nine bases.
Park manned second base for the Bobcats as a freshman and moved over to shortstop as a sophomore. He made 10 errors and fielded .957 for a team that earned the No. 3 seed in the College Station Regional.
In early May, Park was reportedly involved in a postgame altercation and left the team with about a month to play. At that point he made his intentions to transfer public.
With Steven Milam’s professional career likely ending his time in Baton Rouge this summer, Park figures to battle with Jack Ruckert and any other offseason additions LSU can grab for time in the middle infield.
Park is the second portal addition of the cycle joining Gonzaga right-hander Landon Hood.
