NC State isn’t done with Will Wade and LSU just yet.

WRAL-TV in North Carolina discovered this week that North Carolina State is investigating Wade’s departure from the program and subsequent arrival at LSU.

Wade resigned from NC state on March 25 and was officially announced as LSU head coach a day later. According to the terms of Wade’s contract with the Wolfpack, he owed the school $5 million if he left for another job before April 1. That number dropped to $3 million on April 1. LSU and NC State settled at $4 million which was wired to the NC State on May 8.

Two weeks later, according to WRAL’s report, LSU sent a mutual release settlement to be signed essentially closing the book on the entire process and moving forward.

NC State declined. Instead, the Wolfpack administration and legal team suggested they were still looking into the series of events that led to Wade’s departure in an effort to determine if any improprieties took place. The school could and likely would seek damages if any were uncovered.

Wolfpack Athletic Director Boo Corrigan expressed his disappointment in Wade’s handling of the situation on multiple occasions in the week that followed.

At this time, there is no public evidence of any wrongdoing by Wade or LSU. The report simply suggests that NC State is looking under every rock to uncover something.
