LSU freshman pitcher Marcos Paz is leaving LSU after one season, LouisianaSports.net has learned. Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball was the first to report the news.
Texas A&M is expected to be among to top contenders for the right handed pitcher from Texas, according to multiple sources.

Paz came to LSU after missing his senior season of high school due to Tommy John surgery. Despite the injury, he was still considered one of the top right handed pitchers in his class, with Perfect Game ranking him No. 22 in the nation.
The 6-foot-2, 228 pounder made 17 appearances for the Tigers in 2026 with six starts. He finished the season with a 9.20 ERA in 29.1 IP. While his 40 strikeouts were impressive, the 27 walks are what prevented Paz from assuming a larger role during his lone season in Baton Rouge. He started each of the last four SEC weekends due to injuries that hit the Tigers’ staff.
LSU will return starters Casan Evans, William Schmidt and Cooper Moore for 2027. Paz was expected to battle for a spot in the weekend rotation.
Paz is the seventh Tiger to enter the transfer portal, which closes on June 30.
