The MLB Draft has concluded.
Nine Tiger signees were drafted along with eight players from the 2026 roster.
Derek Curiel kicked things off with the fifth selection, and Jake Brown and Deven Sheerin followed. They will all begin their professional careers.
As a reminder, in rounds 1-10, the picks are slotted. If a player is selected in those rounds, it’s extremely likely he signs. Should a team draft a player in the top 10 rounds and not sign that player, the organization loses that slot money from its signing pool. It cannot be reallocated. So, the first 10 rounds are the most important. Teams that save money on picks by signing players under slot early in the draft can use that extra money to sign later picks.
Players have until August 3 to sign with a professional team.
