LSU plans to keep many out of conference games in the State of Louisiana and they’re playing earlier.
On Friday, the school announced four future kickoffs with in-state foes.
- August 28, 2027 – Northwestern State
- August 26, 2028 – ULM
- September 9, 2028 – Southern
- August 31, 2030 – Tulane
The Northwestern State game will come a week before Labor Day next season in what will be a Week Zero game. The same is true of the ULM game in 2028. This summer, the NCAA ruled that schools no longer need a waiver to play that week. LSU will take advantage.

The Tigers will now play the Demons prior to their trip to Houston to play the Houston Cougars in NRG Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 4. The 2028 game with ULM will precede LSU and SMU in Tiger Stadium on September 2.
The 2030 game with Tulane will come on Labor Day Weekend.
