Three Saints to watch at camp day 1

The New Orleans Saints are kicking off training camp ahead of the 2026 season and there will be plenty to watch as the first week of acclimation rolls along. But in particular, a few of the team’s biggest names will quickly come into focus.

Here are three players we’ll be watching closely during the first day of training camp.

WR Jordyn Tyson

Finally set to see his limitations loosened by the Saints’ training staff a bit, Tyson has to be chomping at the bit to cut loose. The explosive wide receiver has been managing his injury recovery on the team’s schedule which has been geared towards making sure he’s available for training camp, particularly padded practices, which begin next week.

While in a climate process, Tyson isn’t likely to keep his competitive nature curbed. So seeing him go all out might not be surprising.

DE Chase Young

Leaning into his leadership role, Young was a blast to watch during offseason practices. That projects to be similar here in training camp. From creating disruption to coaching up other edge rushers, Young should be one of the main focal points of the first day.

RB Travis Etienne Jr.

The addition of Etienne could end up being one of the Saints’ most valuable free agent signings of the team’s new era. The explosiveness, speed and versatility he brings are sure to be on full display right away on Airline Drive. Seeing the full range of how he and fellow back Alvin Kamara are utilized as a tandem for the first time will provide some key insight to the New Orleans run game.
