In their Week 6 victory over the New York Giants, the New Orleans Saints piled on four total takeaways including three interceptions against quarterbacks Jameis Winston and J.J. McCarthy. That’s nine takeaways against the Giants in two games against them over the last two seasons.
That’s nearly half of the 20 total turnovers the team forced in the 2025 season. New Orleans will look to keep that trend going as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7.
Last year, the team followed up that five takeaway performance with a game in which it came up empty in the category the next week. Avoiding a repeat of that cadence will be necessary in order to seal a victory in Paris, France this weekend.
Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrown five interceptions this season, three of which while pressured or blitzed. That makes the matchups on the edge for pass rushers Chase Young and Carl Granderson and the return of linebacker Kaden Elliss pivotal in generating turnovers.
The Saints offense will have to play a key role, as well. One of the reasons New Orleans was able to take advantage of the Giants finding themselves in passing situations rather than protecting a sizable lead.
Generating takeaways will take solid play from both sides and ball security from the offense.
If the Saints can check both of those boxes, keeping their recent turnover trend going will be more than possible, thereby putting them in position to get the NFL’s first victory in France.
