After a brief hold-in, the New Orleans Saints and star wide receiver Chris Olave have finally agreed on a new contract extension.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Saints and Olave have agreed on a four year contract extension worth up to $132 million.
After months of negotiation between the two sides who were clearly motivated to get a contract agreed-upon, both sides finally got it done.
Olave wrapped up a career year in 2025, reeling in 100 receptions for 1,163 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns on his way to a Second-Team All-Pro nomination. Expectations are even higher for him going into 2026.
As the contract discussions were ongoing, Olave and the Saints maintained an open line of communication as he stayed on the sidelines during team drills and 7-on-7s as training camp got under way.
Olave can now get back to the field, as he has been itching to do, with a mutual commitment set between him and his club. He’s been consistent around wanting to remain in New Orleans for the long-run, now, he’s in position to do just that.
The new deal will make Olave the sixth-highest paid receiver with $33 million in average annual value.
