The New Orleans Saints have placed defensive lineman, Bryan Bresee on injured reserve, officially ending his 2026 campaign.
The team announced a trio of roster moves Friday evening, headlined by the Bresee transaction. The defender was believed to have suffered a torn ACL during the first day of training camp practices. After pursuing a second opinion, Saints Head Coach Kellen Moore confirmed that Bresee would have surgery in the near future.
His injury and appointment to injured reserve comes shortly after the team picked up his fifth-year option over the offseason, locking him in for a return in 2027.
The team also announced another pair of moves along the defensive line, waiving defensive tackle Keeshawn Silver with an injury designation and claiming former Seattle Seahawks edge rusher Garrett Nelson off of waivers.
Nelson also spent time with the Denver Broncos.
Silver started training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list and then suffered a calf injury upon his return.
The Saints also reportedly signed linebacker Deion Jones earlier in the afternoon, but have not yet announced that move.
