Now that the NFL’s waivers have cleared, the New Orleans Saints are starting to build their practice squad. The process will go into the afternoon, but the team is moving quickly to start things off, bringing back some familiar faces from the offseason.
The practice squad can consist of up to 17 players. The standard count is 16. But with an International Practice Player, the Saints could hold on to an extra. If the Saints manage to keep Irish kicker Charlie Smyth around, he would apply as a 17th player without taking up a counting spot.
Here are the players added to the practice squad thus far:
