With Etienne at least being present for a second day while managing his hamstring injury, things appear to be on the rise for the back regarding his opportunity to be available for the team’s home opener, as well as his regular-season, home-state debut.

The absence of Miller with the running backs is coming down to illness is a positive for New Orleans.

The participation upgrades for Young, Sanker and Shepherd is good news for a defense ready to match up with an offense that’s had little trouble putting points on the board over the first two weeks of the season.

Bowers continues to trend in the right direction to return to play just in time to take on the Saints. The only mystery remaining at this point appears to be the workload that he can handle should he return for Week 3.

The first-round tight end has been out of action since undergoing a meniscus trim on Sept. 8. His return is ahead of his previously expected timeline, a matter the Saints are preparing to manage.

Meanwhile, Stukes remained out for the second day while in concussion protocol. Often a feel safety for the Raiders, if he isn’t able to be cleared in time, the deep attack for New Orleans may become a big factor on Sunday.
