Taylor downgraded to “Doubtful” for LSU

Vegas doesn’t think Kamario Taylor will play. Now the availability report is starting to agree.

After two “Questionable” designation, Taylor is now “Doubtful” for Saturday’s game between LSU and Mississippi State. Taylor leads the SEC in passing and total offense. He averages 8.2 yards per play and 290 passing per game.

He’s thrown for three or more touchdowns in every game this year.

Three weeks ago, Taylor injured his foot, and he played through it against Alabama. It resulted in his most pedestrian effort of the season.

Head coach Jeff Lebby brought in a pair of transfer backup options in offseason. Jaden Rashada has spent time at Arizona State and Georgia. He was also committed to Florida as a five-star prospect. AJ Swann started games for Vanderbilt and played for LSU prior to his time at Appalachian State.

Walk on Billy Puckett is the expected starter. Puckett is 8-for-12 passing in two games.

State’s leading rusher, Fluff Bothwell, is also listed as doubtful. Bothwell averages 5.4 yards per carry.
