LSU may be ranked No. 15 in the latest Associated Press Top 25, but oddsmakers believe the Tigers are a legitimate national championship contender. According to BetOnline Sports & Casino, LSU has the sixth-best odds to win the College Football Playoff at 11/1, a whopping nine spots higher than its ranking in the AP poll. It’s one of the largest disparities between the voters and oddsmakers in college football. Meanwhile, Utah, UCLA and Kentucky have surged into the top 10 following a chaotic Week 8, but none has better championship odds than Lane Kiffin’s Tigers. As the playoff picture begins to take shape, the betting market suggests LSU remains a much bigger threat to win it all than its national ranking indicates.
