There was a time when home wins were almost a given for the New Orleans Saints. Today, that time often feels long gone.
The Saints are coming off three consecutive losses at home this season and carry a 2-9 record in the Caesars Superdome since the beginning of the 2025 season.
The team even lost its neutral-site home game in Paris, France, falling 16-10 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. That loss moved its combined home and neutral-site record over the last two seasons to 2-10.
Reclaiming home-field advantage has been tough for the Saints. Blowouts, blown leads and an observable loss of confidence and good vibes in the Dome have all played a role.
In each of the team’s last two games in New Orleans, typically loyal fans have poured out of the Superdome doors early enough to leave a sea of opposing fans cheering visiting teams to victory.
If New Orleans truly wants to reclaim its status as a contender, it must start at home.
And it’s worth saying there’s a chance to at least get that process started this week.
The Saints will face the Cleveland Browns in their return to the Big Easy in Week 9. The Browns have lost 23 straight games on the road.
New Orleans has a perfect opportunity to grab its first home win of the season against Cleveland. However, there’s always the risk of being the team that allows Cleveland to snap its long road losing streak. That’s something the Saints would love to avoid.
Head coach Kellen Moore has made roster, staff and schematic changes going into this game. But a third home win under Moore would provide the best evidence of change yet.
