247Sports Reveals Team Talent Composite

One of the best insights on which teams have the best chance to compete for, and win, a national title is the annual Team Talent Composite Rankings from 247Sports. The site explains the rankings as “a metric that examines and ranks every FBS team – accounting for transfers, dismissals and other early departures – based on how their players were rated in high school.”
It may not be completely scientific considering that the rankings as a whole are solely based on high school player recruiting rankings. This leaves some room for error considering how prevalent and important development is in the transfer portal era. That being said since 2015 only one team has ever won the national title that wasn’t ranked in the top ten of the Team Talent Composite Rankings. That was Michigan in 2023.
Here’s where every SEC team is ranked in this year’s Team Talent Composite
