A recent study by BetOnline.ag, analyzing geotagged data from X over the past week, reveals that football fans across the U.S. are rallying behind teams seeking their first Super Bowl win—namely the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills.
The analysis tracked over 190,000 tweets using official fan hashtags, such as #OnePride (Lions) and #BillsMafia (Bills), to determine which teams each state is rooting for during the NFL playoffs.
Results by Team:
- Detroit Lions: 25 states, including Michigan, Arizona, and Alabama, back the Lions, making them the clear fan favorite.
- Buffalo Bills: The Bills got support in 10 states, including New York, Ohio, and Minnesota.
- Kansas City Chiefs: Backed by four states, including Missouri and Kansas.
- Los Angeles Rams: Favored in three states, including California and Nevada.
- Philadelphia Eagles: Rooted for in three states, including Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
- Washington Commanders: Supported in two states, Virginia and West Virginia.
- Houston Texans: Favored in two states, Louisiana and Texas.
- Baltimore Ravens: Maryland stands alone in rooting for the Ravens.
