McKinstry Exits Preseason Game

Injuries have been far too plentiful for the New Orleans Saints this offseason, and those fortunes do not look to be changing any time soon. This time it’s Kool-Aid McKinstry. During the first quarter of the team’s preseason matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, the Alabama product came up after a third and 12 stop looking to be favoring his right leg.
He then went to the medical tent, spent some time on the exercise bike and working with trainers before eventually going back to the locker room.
McKinstry started at cornerback Sunday with both Marshon Lattimore and Paulson Adebo already dealing with injuries. The sideline report update from the game’s broadcast mentioned that the injury did not seem serious. But the concern mounts regardless due to the sheer number of injuries the team has already experienced this offseason.
The defense is already navigating injuries to starters like Lattimore, Adebo and linebackers Demario Davis and Pete Werner. Ideally all will be available for the team’s Week 1 matchup with the Carolina Panthers. Good news for McKinstry would be welcome sooner rather than later.
