Notre Dame offensive lineman Pat Coogan cancelled his official visit to Ole Miss early Wednesday morning. Coogan is the top available player in the transfer portal, ranked No. 10 overall in the current December window.
Coogan was originally scheduled to visit Ole Miss on Wednesday, prior to other visits he scheduled for the upcoming weekend. However, those plans have now changed and he is reportedly focusing his recruitment on two schools, Indiana and Michigan.
Coogan started 13 games at center for Notre Dame this season. He has 26 career starts in South Bend at both center and left guard and was considered the emotional leader of the 2024 Fighting Irish. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
With the Rebels missing out on the veteran offensive lineman, they appear to be done in the portal for this window. The Rebels, and the self proclaimed portal king Lane Kiffin, brought in 24 transfers in since the December window opened on December 9th. Even without the addition of Coogan, Ole Miss will finish with one of the top classes in the country, as they currently sit at No. 2 in the team rankings according to On3.
