MOBILE, Ala. — With two days of the Reese’s Senior Bowl wrapped up, several players are finding ways to grab the attention of scouts and teams in attendance. The New Orleans Saints are among the teams present that have had a long history of drafting from the collegiate showcase.

Here are three players that stood out in Mobile, Ala., on Wednesday led off by a defensive end that dominated the day.

Texas A&M DE Shemar Stewart

The 6-foot-5, 281-pound edge defender had an outstanding day on Wednesday, dominating the opposing offensive line with a blend of power and finesse. Stewart didn’t have a ton of collegiate production, with only 1.5 sacks in each of the last three seasons. So showing out on tape and at showcases like the Senior Bowl is imperative. This is the type of player the Saints have invested in in the past. However, the team may have a shift in defensive philosophy this offseason which may force them to stray from their typical molds.

Iowa State WR Jayden Higgins

The x-receiver seems tailor made for what the Saints need at the position. Higgins, at 6-foot-3 and 217 pounds, is one of the most fluid movers in Mobile. His ability to create separation paired with his physical playstyle at the catch point should absolutely catch the eyes of New Orleans. He is a prospect to watch in Day Two of the NFL Draft as a potential complement to the Saints’ receiving room.

LSU OL Emery Jones

The LSU Tigers offensive lineman stood out most on Wednesday by actually playing out of position. He moved inside, playing at left guard, and looked like he was in command during the process. New Orleans is in need of help along the offensive interior, and they may not have to look far to find it.
