Kalen DeBoer is adding a familiar face to his offensive staff at Alabama. Yea Alabama, the school’s NIL collective, reported Ryan Grubb will rejoin DeBoer’s staff as co-offensive coordinator after spending one season with the Seattle Seahawks.
Grubb initially agreed to join DeBoer at Alabama last year, but decided to remain in Seattle as the Seahawks offensive coordinator. The 48-year-old was fired by Seattle after one season.
He served as Kalen DeBoer’s offensive coordinator for four seasons at Washington and Fresno State. Those offenses averaged 35.5 points per game and over 480 yards per game. In their final season together, Grubb helped lead Washington to one of the best offenses in the country, ranking 12th in scoring, 13th in yards per game, and second in passing yards per game.
Grubb is expected to take over play-calling duties from Nick Sheridan who was the play caller for the Crimson Tide this past season.
