NEW ORLEANS, La. – The pieces continue to fall into place for the New Orleans Saints to land Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their next head coach.

Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Saints and Moore are finalizing their deal for him to accept the position. As a part of doing so, Pelissero reports that Saints general manager Mickey Loomis has been delivering the news via phone call to each of the remaining candidates for the job.

The remaining candidates included last year’s interim head coach Darren Rizzi, Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, and New York Giants offensive coordinator and assistant head coach Mike Kafka.

Tuesday morning, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the deal between Moore and the Saints could be finalized the same day and that an announcement could be made by the team as early as Wednesday.

These new details further exactly that expectation. Barring anything unforeseen, New Orleans is about to have its next head coach.
