Biggest SEC Snubs from the NFL Combine

02/14/2025
Dan Jackson

By Chris Marler

On Thursday, 329 players from around the country were invited to the 2025 NFL Combine. Nearly a third of those invites were from the SEC, as 105 players from around the league got an invite to Indianapolis. However, what was more surprising than the long list of inclusions was the short list of SEC snubs.

Here are the biggest snubs from the 2025 Combine.

Dan Jackson – Safety, Georgia

There are few more likable players in the 2025 Draft than Dan Jackson. Jackson walked on at Georgia out of high school. He played on the scout team for two seasons, before finally seeing some action on special teams. He finished the 2024 season third on the team in tackles, with 64 and two interceptions, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a blocked kick.

Jackson was also voted best defensive back by his peers at the Senior Bowl. A snub from the combine is shocking.

Debo Williams – Linebacker, South Carolina

Williams was a 1st team All-SEC selection at linebacker in 2023. He even made Phil Steele’s All-American team as an Honorable Mention. Williams played 51 career games at South Carolina, including 27 starts at linebacker. He finished his career with 225 tackles and three sacks.

Warren Brinson – Defensive Line, Georgia

Warren Brinson was a three year starter on Kirby Smart’s defense. At 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds, with three years of production on one of the nation’s top defenses, it’s puzzling. What makes it more puzzling is how much success Georgia draft picks have had in the NFL in the last three to five years.

Just to be clear, Warren thought it was odd, too.

Honorable Mentions

Kai Kroeger – Punter, South Carolina

Johnny Walker – EDGE, Missouri

Rivaldo Fairweather – Tight End, Auburn
