Tennessee DB Rickey Gibson plans to enter the transfer portal

Spring practice hasn’t started yet in Knoxville, but that hasn’t stopped the Vols from losing a player to the portal. Tennessee will reportedly be losing defensive back Rickey Gibson, as he plans to enter the spring portal window.
Gibson played in all but one of the Vols 13 games last season. He finished 2024 with 32 tackles and six pass breakups.
Gibson was a four star recruit from Trussville, Alabama in the 2022 recruiting cycle. He had over 30 offers from around the country, but he ultimately chose the Vols over Arkansas, Alabama, and Florida State.
Gibson would become the 19th player the Vols have lost since the first transfer portal window opened.
