Hoover Extends SEC Baseball Tournament Agreement

The Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament isn’t going anywhere.
Monday night, the Hoover City Council unanimously passed a four-year extension through 2028 with two additional one-year options through 2030. The city has hosted the event every year since 1998.
Renovations and improvements to Hoover Metropolitan Stadium have been ongoing for two years. Fans at this year’s event may have noticed upgrades to the parking lot and the stadium entrance.
Reportedly there are the plans for $11 million in upgrades to the fan experiences inside the stadium.
Each of the past two years the attendance record has been set. In May, the event drew more than 180,000 spectators.
As Texas and Oklahoma join the SEC, next season’s tournament will feature all 16 teams in a single elimination format.
