Casan Evans has burst onto the scene as a freshman fireballer for LSU.
On Monday the SEC named him Co-Freshman of the Week. The rookie from Houston worked four shutout innings with five strikeouts for the Tigers, closing out wins over Dallas Baptist and Kansas State. He earned the save in both games.
For the season, Evans has fired eight scoreless frames with 14 strikeouts and two walks. He’s only allowed one extra base hit.
