Napier: Gators QB Lagway dealing with arm injury

The Florida Gators are set to begin practice on Thursday with their most important piece in a limited role.
Thursday morning Billy Napier said that star quarterback DJ Lagway would be limited in throwing throughout spring practice.
“I think our intentions here are to be very smart,” Napier said to local media. “He’ll be limited in throwing activities, but he’ll participate in all practices otherwise.”
Lagway missed one game last season due to a hamstring injury. Napier did not disclose the nature of the injury to Lagway’s throwing arm.
The former five-star recruit and No. 4 overall player in the 2024 class currently has the tenth best odds to win the Heisman trophy at +2000.
Lagway finished the season with just 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He led the Gators to an 8-5 record and a postseason win in the Gasparilla Bowl.
The Gators kick off their 2025 season against Long Island University on August 30th.
