BATON ROUGE, La. – All eyes are on LSU powerhouses Aneesah Morrow and Mikaylah Williams heading into Friday night’s SEC quarterfinals game following news of Morrow and Williams making Tiger history alongside teammate Flau’Jae Johnson as “the big three” were named to the 2025 All-SEC First Team. This honor makes LSU the only team in the SEC with multiple First-Team players and commemorates a program-first for LSU women’s basketball.
Morrow, who is considered one of the biggest stars in women’s college basketball this season, is cementing her name in the record books amidst a standout senior season following honors as USA Today’s SEC Player of the Year and SEC Defensive Player of the Year, SEC All-Defensive Team, and the only unanimous All-SEC First-Team selection. This season, she reached career milestones of 2,500 points and 1,500 career points and is one of eight players in NCAA Division 1 history to reach both marks. She also became the second player in NCAA Division 1 history to secure 100 career double-doubles following her 28-point and 12-rebound game against Ole Miss on Sunday – her 26th double-double of the season – and currently ranks No. 5 in NCAA Division 1 history for all-time rebounds. Fellow teammate and sophomore guard #12 Williams, who was named 2024 SEC Freshman of the Year last year during one of the best freshman seasons in program history, is continuing to make a name for herself with All-SEC First-Team honors and was announced as a finalist for the Cheryl Miller Award, which is given to the best small forward in the country.
Upon their return from the SEC tournament in Greenville, Morrow and Williams will head to Raising Cane’s and suit up for yet another challenge as they add Fry Cook & Cashier to their impressive list of accomplishments. From 3 to 4 p.m. CT on Monday, March 10, the dynamic duo will work a “shift” at Raising Cane’s first Restaurant “The Mothership” – located across from the North Gates at LSU – as they slam dunk Chicken Fingers into Cane’s Sauce and build Box Combos with the same speed and accuracy they’re known for on the court.
