LSU isn’t only replacing defensive line coach Bo Davis, but also its top two interior defensive lineman from 2024. Transfers Gio Paez and Paris Shand both switched positions when senior Jacobian Guillory was lost for the season with an Achilles injury during the second game. Despite being undersized for the positions, Shand moved from end to tackle and Paez kicked inside to play nose tackle.
In an interview on After Further Review with Matt Moscona, Shand describes the position switch and what it was like working under both Bo Davis and Kevin Peoples. He also raves about young Tiger defenders who will be expected to shoulder a bigger load in 2025.
Shand is currently working out in Fresno, California, preparing for Pro Day and the NFL Draft. He details his journey from Canada to Connecticut, Tucson to Baton Rouge and now whatever might be next.
