Reed torn his ACL in the December win over Florida State and missed the remainder of the season. Prior to Reeds injury, LSU was 6-1 with wins over Kansas State and Central Florida. After he went down, the Tigers were just 7-17.
Through seven games, Reed averaged 12.4 points and 7.4 rebounds. The 6-foot-10 forward shot 39 percent from three-point range as a sophomore in 2023-24. Head coach Matt McMahon and his staff hoped to lean on Reed as the team’s primary post threat.
That never materialized.
Reed is expected to make a full recovery from ACL surgery as of this summer and is on pace to be cleared for preseason activities.
