The 6-foot-1, 200 pounder from Celina, Texas, is the No. 76 prospect in the On3 Composite and the seventh best quarterback in the class. He’s choosing among more than two dozens offers.
LSU began aggressively pursuing Bentley after 2025 No. 1 prospect Bryce Underwood decommitted from the Tigers in late November. Many 2026 prospects shied away from the Tigers with the likelihood of being stuck behind Underwood for multiple seasons in Baton Rouge.
LSU added Mississippi State transfer Michael Van Buren in the December transfer portal. Rickie Collins and AJ Swann left LSU in December. Aside from returning starter Garrett Nussmeier, the only other quarterback on the roster is redshirt freshman Colin Hurley.
Brian Kelly’s staff currently has nine 2026 commitments, the No. 1 class in the On3 Composite.
