Organized team activities (OTAs) have kicked off for the New Orleans Saints. This is the next step of the team’s offseason workouts that now permits, with no live contact, more team action like 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.

Like the offseason workouts, attendance at OTA’s is voluntary. The program usually lasts about three weeks with three or four days of practice at a time. A total of 10 days of practice are allotted.

Some veterans don’t participate at all, others participate for only a portion of the period, and some choose to be present for the entire period. The Saints released their first behind the scenes glance at Tuesday’s first day of OTAs via a highlights video later in the evening.

Throughout the video, several established veterans joined young players and their new coaching staff to begin the process of transitioning their game from the classroom to the field.

Here is a list of spotted veterans with a focus of those no longer in rookie contracts. This will only include those shown on camera, meaning this list may not include every veteran that was present, just those caught on film. Some that were absent may also show up later in the OTA process.

A few key young players that have been around for multiple seasons were also present. Most notably, wide receiver Chris Olave, running back Kendre Miller, and offensive lineman Trevor Penning.
