No. 4 Little Rock eliminates DBU, will face LSU

LSU will meet the No. 4 seed Little Rock Trojans in the Baton Rouge Regional finals.

Little Rock defeated No. 2 seed Dallas Baptist Sunday afternoon, 8-6, eliminating the Patriots. The Trojans blasted four home runs totaled 13 hits to continue their strong offensive showing over the last two days.

Dallas Baptist made two more errors and left nine runners on base. They finish their season 41-18.

The Trojans wasted no time getting the offense going. They posted a three-spot in the first inning thanks to a three-run blast by Ty Rhoades.

DBU would answer with two in the second and took the lead with two more in the fourth, but Little Rock responded with three more runs on two longballs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead for good.

In the ninth, Dallas Baptist got the leadoff runner aboard via the hit by pitch, but Little Rock called on Blake Van Cleve to slam the door, and he did. The right hander got a strikeout and a line drive double play to end the game.

Little Rock entered the Baton Rouge Regional 24-32. They will take on LSU at 8:00 on Sunday night in the final. LSU needs one win to advance. Little Rock would need to beat LSU Sunday and again on Monday to move on to the Super Regionals.
