The most prolific passer in New Orleans Saints franchise history won’t see any of his franchise all-time passing records exchange hands anytime soon. But one of his other all-time marks could fall by Week Three of the 2025 season.
Former New Orleans Saints quarterback and future Hall of Famer Drew Brees holds the records for most games played in a Saints uniform with 228 games.
Because it’s not a passing record, this could be surpassed by any long-standing member of the roster, even on the defensive side. That’s exactly what could happen this year.
Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan is entering his fifteenth year not just in the NFL, but in New Orleans. His 226 games played as a Saint put him in position, with just three games played in 2025, to overtake Brees for the record.
Jordan is also the team’s official all-time leader in sacks with 121.5.
Jordan’s goal from the very beginning has been to be a lifer, playing with one team throughout his entire career. His father, former NFL tight end Steve Jordan, did exactly the same as he spent his entire 13-year playing career with the Minnesota Vikings.
This would be another deserved moment of achievement for Jordan as he continues to build the legacy he’ll eventually leave behind in the Big Easy. And it should hold for some time.
If Jordan appears in all 17 games in 2025, he’ll finish the year with 243 games played whether he starts or not. The next-most games started by an active Saints player is currently 132 by long snapper Zach Wood. After 17 games, Wood would climb to 149 games, passing names like linebacker Sam Mills and wide receiver Marques Colston along the way. But the gap is still nearly 100 games.
If all goes well for Jordan this year, he could proudly hold on to the top spot for a while.
