There are several New Orleans Saints that have some interesting placements among end of year award odds. One Saints rookie nears the top of his category while some of the team’s contributors could be interesting flyers with positive odds.
Here are some of the most important Saints end of year award odds from FanDuel Sportsbook a couple of weeks before training camp kicks off.
Offensive Rookie of the Year
QB Tyler Shough (+1200)
Shough actually looks like an interesting bet here. All postseason awards for which quarterbacks qualify are just as likely to go to the signal callers as any other position. Shough is the second passer on the list behind Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward, who ranks second (+300) behind Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty (+270). The Saints’ rookie out of Louisville holds on to top-five odds before training camp begins. It’s easy to imagine his odds getting even more favorable if he wins the starting role.
Offensive Player of the Year
RB Alvin Kamara (+15000)
Kamara is buried way down the list here with fellow running back Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles leading the way. Saints head coach Kellen Moore pioneered an Offensive Player of the Year season from Barkley last year with the Eagles. But it took 2,005 rushing yards to get there.
Comeback Player of the Year
WR Chris Olave (+6000)
WR Rashid Shaheed (+12000)
TE Taysom Hill (+21000)
Olave looks like the safest of the three bets available here. He’ll be the focus of the Saints’ passing offense as long as he’s healthy and available. But with quarterbacks near the top of the list, it’s going to be a hard award to claim by any other position. The current favorite is Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (+300).
Coach of the Year
Kellen Moore (+3000)
Moore finds himself tied for No. 18 on FanDuel’s list. He has the same odds as division rival Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris and three others including veteran coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers Mike Tomlin. If Moore were to pull off an award-winning season here, he would start off his head coaching career just like former coach Sean Payton who won the award on his rookie coaching year with the Saints in 20006.
The league is also debuting a Protector of the Year award in 2025. The award will be given to the league’s top offensive lineman. FanDuel doesn’t currently have odds for this inaugural honor, but center Erik McCoy should be considered the Saints’ early favorite should a New Orleans player claim the award.
