Brees’ year at NBC ended abruptly with his contract not being extended to a second year. It was a bit of a surprise for audience members that enjoyed hearing the former quarterback cover both NFL and Notre Dame college football games.
The 20-year pro expressed interest in returning to the booth during a Super Bowl radio row interview with CNBC.
“I love broadcast because there’s an insight that comes with playing the position, the quarterback position, for 20 years that you have that nobody else has,” he said. “I feel like we’re extremely well-equipped to be able to talk about, and communicate, exactly what’s happened on the field and why. So look, I would, with the right opportunity, I’d love to.”
It sounds like Brees will indeed get that opportunity again thanks to Netflix and their Christmas Day lineup.
The 2025 NFL Christmas Day schedule on Netflix includes two key divisional matchup. The Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders will be played at 1 p.m. ET and the Detroit Lions hosting the Minnesota Vikings will air at 4:30 p.m. ET.
