The two arms that finished LSU’s run to an eighth national title have commanded millions.
Chase Shores and Anthony Eyanson both signed contracts that make them professionals. Shores signed with the Angels for $2.08 million, full slot value for the 47th pick. Eyanson was taken 40 picks later at No. 87 by the Red Sox, a slot value of $907,200. He agreed to terms on a $1.75 million signing bonus, significantly over slot.
Shores emerged as LSU’s ace reliever down the stretch and fired the final pitch of the season. He leaves Baton Rouge with a pair of national championship rings. Eyanson didn’t even spend a full calendar year at LSU but leaves a millionaire with the decisive win in Omaha to his name.
The rest of the Tigers who were drafted last week are expected to sign contracts. Stay tuned to LouisianaSports.net for more updates.
