IRVINE, Calif. – Another season has come to an early end for the New Orleans Saints. Per the NFL’s transaction wire, the Saints have placed wide receiver Bub Means on Injured Reserve, ending his season.

For the second season in a row, Means’ season finishes early with an ankle injury suffered at SoFi stadium in a game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Last season, Means suffered an ankle injury in the teams’ Week Eight matchup and then suffered a setback later in the season, shutting down his year. This year, he started off strong throughout OTAs and minicamps, but has a more quiet training camp than anticipated.
As things started to pick up for the second-year wide receiver out of Pittsburgh, his volume saw a boost in the preseason matchup. Unfortunately, just 10 snaps into his game, he was carted off without a shoe on his right foot and with a towel draped over his head.

New Orleans has lost both Means and undrafted rookie Chris Tyree over the course of the last week, thinning out the wide receiver room. The team also signed Roderick Douglas, the 5-foot-10, 180 pound speedster out of SMU to help manage the attrition.
