NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints returned to the practice field on Wednesday and sported a mostly-healthy roster.
The biggest story to come from the portion of practice that is open to the media is the return of an important defensive playmaker. Linebacker Willie Gay Jr., who missed Monday’s practice with an undisclosed injury, was back and participating on Wednesday. Whether he was limited or full will depend on his involvement for the remainder of the day.
Here are the player that were not seen during the open viewing period:
DT Khalen Saunders
LB D’Marco Jackson
LB Jaylan Ford
No big surprises there. Jackson and Ford have been managing recent injuries while Saunders is expected to miss some time in the coming weeks with a calf injury.
New Orleans also saw its rookie right end Dallin Holker observing on the side and running back Kendre Miller (Injured Reserve) looking on as well. Neither were participating, but being around the action is always a positive sign. Ford was seen briefly doing work off to the side as well.
An injury report with more detailed information will be made available to the local media later Wednesday. Keep an eye on LouisianaSports.Net for those updates.
