HUNT’S TAKE
Brutus is an extremely gifted athlete. He’s got a great frame with broad shoulders and room to add weight. When he does, he’s going to be an extremely physical college player. At 6-foot-5, he’s got the tools to be an elite defender.
His physicality is the first thing that jumps off the tape, but his suddenness and explosiveness as a leaper is quick to follow. He played above the rim as a high school junior which is impressive as a 6-foot-5 wing. He blocks shots and easily explodes off the floor to throw down dunks in transition and in the half court.
Offensively, there’s development to come. He likes to pull up in the midrange to shoot. He’s completely unafraid of contact around the bucket. Right now, I wouldn’t describe him as particularly quick, and he’s got work to do as a shooter.
The profile is a strong, athletic wing who excels on the defensive end with an attacking offensive game built around physicality.
Brutus is an exciting prospect that the LSU coaching staff did well to reel in.
