It was a wild week on and off the field in the SEC. Here are this week’s QB Rankings as we head into the final month of the season.
The Sad 6
16. Jackson Arnold, Auburn
15. Matt Zollers, Missouri
14. DJ Lagway, Florida
13. John Mateer, Oklahoma
12. LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina
11. Taylen Green, Arkansas
Tier 2 QB 1s
- Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
The friction between Nussmeier and Brian Kelly was noticeably obvious on Saturday. Maybe going separate ways and him having a fresh start will be best for the fifth year senior.
- Cutter Boley, Kentucky
It appears Kentucky has found themselves a quarterback. In the last two weeks, Boley has completed over 77 percent of his passes and put up nearly 600 yards passing total. That includes 330 against the Vols along with his five touchdowns.
Still thinking about this Cutter Boley play…

- Arch Manning, Texas
Despite suffering a concussion after getting hit in overtime, Manning may have finally turned a corner against Mississippi State.
- Blake Shapen, Mississippi State
Shapen once again did everything he could to will his team to a win on Saturday. Sadly, they came up short. Shapen finished with 381 passing yards and four touchdowns. On the season he ranks top five in the conference in passing yards (1,906) and yards per attempt (8.4).

- Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt
It was possibly his worst game as a starting quarterback, but it still ended with him finding the endzone and doing what he does best – win.
The Top 5
- Marcel Reed, Texas A&M
Reed had a great game against a very good LSU defense on Saturday in the Aggies blowout 49-25 win. He finished with 310 yards of offense and vaulted himself firmly in the Heisman trophy race as we head into the final month of the season.

- Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss
Chambliss had another ho-hum performance this weekend. Hopefully you can sense the sarcasm there because the ho-hum performance was for another 368 yards, and this time it was against arguably the best defense in America. Chambliss has passed for at least 250 yards in every game this season and is averaging 360 yards of offense in his six starts for the Rebels this season.
Absolute dot from Trinidad Chambliss. Started the season as Ole Miss’ backup and now he’s playing his way into getting drafted pic.twitter.com/zTnwJK9Y2W

- Gunner Stockton, Georgia
Stockton was on a bye this week, but is currently second in the country in QBR with a 90.8. He also leads the SEC in completion percentage (70.5) and is tied for the fewest interceptions thrown this season with just one.
- Joey Aguilar, Tennessee
Aguilar leads the SEC in passer rating and passing yards per game. He’s also second in the conference in passing touchdowns this season with 18. He was awesome against Kentucky going 20-of-26 for 396 with three touchdowns and zero interceptions. He’s been a revelation for the Vols this season after losing Nico Iamaleava, and if the Vols had one less loss he would be in much more of the conversation around the Heisman Trophy.
He arrived this summer. Joey Aguilar of @Vol_Football SEC ranks in conference games (5):
Passing YPG – 1st (318.2)
Passer Rating – 1st (157.1)
Pass TD – 2nd (10)
Yds Per Play – 1st (8.23)
20+ yd Passes – 1st (22)
30+ yd Passes – 1st (13)
40+ yd Passes – 1st (7) pic.twitter.com/E1RpmHmj6F— Bill Martin (@Bill_Martin) October 26, 2025
- Ty Simpson, Alabama
It wasn’t his best week, but Simpson remains at the top spot based on his entire body of work this season. It also helps that he was at his best when Alabama needed him most on Saturday against Carolina. He finished 24-of-43 for the game, but Simpson was 8-of-11 with a touchdown on the final two drives of the fourth quarter. Those two final drives started with Alabama down eight and ended with them winning by seven on the road in a hostile environment.
Alabama QB Ty Simpson’s best throw vs South Carolina. Short gain but high-difficulty, NFL stuff. #All22 pic.twitter.com/SvayYcbw6U
