After he enters his fifth-year option in 2026, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave has been open about his contract extension talks with the team.
During a bye week visit with Kay Adams on the Up & Adams show, he again shared more details.
“It’s in the works,” Olave said to Adams. “It’s in the works. I want to be in New Orleans forever.”
Olave told local media ahead of the team’s Week 7 matchup with the Chicago Bears that he believed he was “on the same page” with the organization regarding contract extension talks. It sounds like that synergy has held strong since.
Olave also spoke on his playing time with rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, who impressed as the starter in the Saints’ Week 10 win over the Carolina Panthers.

The receiver could be looking at locking up a long-term deal with the team to continue to find success with the young quarterback, from whom he reeled in a 62-yard touchdown reception in Week 10.
“I know it’s a tough time right now,” the wideout acknowledged. “But I love it out here. I love the people, I love the culture, I love the fans. And I love the new coaching staff and the front office. We’re in the works right now and hope it gets done soon. But, like I said, I want to be here for my whole career.”
