There are only four conference games this weekend, but there are several very interesting trends and movements in multiple lines across the league. So, let’s dive in.
The Missouri-Oklahoma game has been very interesting to follow all week. As of Friday, there’s a good chance that quarterback Beau Pribula will play against the Sooners. That would be a huge upgrade for the Tigers. Another interesting part is that 70 percent of the bets have been placed on Missouri, but 90 percent of the money is on Oklahoma. What does that mean? That public money is on Missouri, but an overwhelming amount of sharp money is on Oklahoma.
This game can go either way especially with the quarterback situation being in flux, but siding with sharp bettors over the public is usually where you want to be.
Another interesting line is Georgia versus Charlotte. Charlotte is awful, but so is this line if you’re on Georgia’s side. That’s not to deter you from that bet, but history is definitely not on the Dawgs’ side. In games where Georgia is favored by 40 or more points under Kirby Smart, they are 0-12-1 against the spread. They’re currently favored by 43.5 points on Saturday.
Finally, there’s the Auburn game. This one is so enticing, but it’s probably something no one should touch with a ten foot pole. Auburn looked great against Vanderbilt and broke out of their offensive shell that limited them all season. They’re coming off a bye and have a ton of momentum around the program right now. Even more, they’re just a 5.5 point underdog in next week’s Iron Bowl.
What makes this game so scary from a betting standpoint is that while they’re playing an FCS team, it’s an FCS team that is 9-1, and Auburn is starting a true freshman at quarterback that has barely played all season.
