Cupcake week was about as anticlimactic as the finale of The Sopranos. Thankfully, we had a week of off-field stuff to keep us entertained. But, there were still some bright spots, heartwarming stories and viral moments across the league.
Here’s a recap of the SEC in, case you missed it.
Brian Kelly’s son says “Free BK!”
Senior night at Tiger Stadium was one of the most lackluster LSU games in quite some time. But, there were still plenty of fireworks surrounding the lead up before the game. During senior night festivities before the game, Brian Kelly’s son, Kenzel, wore a shirt with his dad’s initials on it. Then when one of the cameras panned to him he screamed, “Long live BK! Free my boy BK!” The video instantly went viral.

Tennessee exercised their demons in Knoxville
It had been 22 years since Tennessee left Gainesville with a win in the Swamp. In fact, the Vols had only won two games there since 1972. That changed on Saturday night.
Tennessee carried the nation’s best first quarter scoring offense into Florida Field, and put on a clinic. The Vols scored a touchdown on each of their first four possessions, and led 31-0 at the half. They outgained the Gators 323 to 110 in the first half and had a ridiculous 19 first downs.
The final score was 31-11. The first half deficit was the biggest margin they’d trailed in a game in over a decade. They improved to 8-3 on the season, and will now face 9-2 Vanderbilt at home to finish the year.
I think it’s safe to say Joey Aguilar has perfected the Gator Chomp. #Vols pic.twitter.com/tGkGKIQpK0

The best thing you’ll see all day
There were a lot of highlights in the Auburn-Mercer game. The Tigers won 62-17 and their true freshman quarterback Deuce Knight finished the game with 401 yards of offense and six touchdowns in his first collegiate start.
But, the real story was in pregame, and it’s hands down the best thing you’ll see all day.
In 2024 Brian Battie, an Auburn running back, was shot in the head. His brother was also shot and killed in the incident. He spent three months in the hospital, and never regained full strength or function in the right side of his body.
On Saturday, he was recognized at Senior Day and returned to Jordan-Hare for the first time since the accident. It was an incredible moment.
In 2024, Auburn RB Brian Battie was shot and in critical condition. He lost his brother in the tragic accident.
