METAIRIE, La. – The New Orelans Saints saw a concerning, but expected downgrade on Thursday as their top wide receiver was not able to participate after suffering an injury during Wednesday’s practice. However, the team also received some good news on its Thanksgiving injury report.
New Orleans Saints
Did Not Participate
- RB Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle)
- WR Chris Olave (back)
Limited Participation
- RB Devin Neal (ankle)
Full Participation
- T Taliese Fuaga (ankle)
Following his in-practice injury on Wednesday, Olave did not find his way back out on the field Thursday. That’s a concerning piece of news for New Orleans who is already shorthanded at wide receiver. Wideouts Devaughn Vele and Mason Tipton may be looked to, along with tight end Juwan Johnson, to shoulder the responsibility of keeping the ground game alive for the offense.
On a positive note, one of the team’s most reliable offensive lineman has found his way back to practice after suffering an injury the has sidelined him since Week 9 in Los Angeles. Fuaga has been upgraded to full participation, putting him on track to being back on the field in Miami helping to protect rookie quarterback Tyler Shough.
Miami Dolphins
Limited Participation
- OL Aaron Brewer (foot/ankle)
- CB Rasul Douglas (foot/ankle)
- OL Austin Jackson (toe)
- DT Benito Jones (ankle)
- TE Darren Waller (pectoral)
Full Participation
- LB Bradley Chubb (foot)
- WR Jaylen Waddle (foot)
- WR Dee Eskridge (shoulder)
- LB Matthew Judon (knee)
- S Ifeatu Melifonwu (thumb)
For the Dolphins, two major upgrades took place on Thursday. Both Chubb and Waddle went from limited to full participation. Those two players will be major contributors as the team’s sack and receiving yards leaders respectively.
Miami will be close to full strength on Sunday going up against an increasingly deplete Saints offense.
