NEW ORLEANS, La. — Some reinforcements will be in the way for the Miami Dolphins as they get set to host the New Orleans Saints in their Week 13 matchup.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the team will be activating tight end Darren Waller ahead of this weekend’s game.
Waller, a physical and athletic pass-catcher at tight end, has been marred with injury since his final days with the Las Vegas Raiders. After arriving in Miami this offseason, dealt by the New York Giants this offseason, the tight end got off to a fast start.
Waller reeled in four receiving touchdowns in his first four games as a Dolphin, including a pair in his final contest before going on injured reserve with a pectoral injury.
Whether or not Waller will be on a pitch count or full-go against the Saints will be a lingering question headed into game time. But he will be a very important piece for Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in third downs and in the red zone. The job just got a little more challenging for Saints defensive coordinator Brandon Staley and his group.
